报告题目：A Simple Proof of the 4-Color Theorem

报告人简介: Wei-Chang Yeh为台湾清华大学工业工程与工程管理系特聘教授，美国德州大学工业工程博士。  研究领域包括绿色供应链、云端运算和智能电网。已在国际知名期刊及国际会议发表论文250余篇。受邀担任国际知名期刊 《IEEE可靠性汇刊》和《可靠性工程及系统安全》副主编。他提出了一种被称作简化群优化 (SSO) 的新型软件计算算法，该算法简洁而高效地解决了NP-hard问题。获得授权发明专利50项。由于Yeh教授在工业工程等领域的杰出贡献，被多个国际会议邀请做大会特邀报告 (Keynote Speaker) 。 

 内容摘要：The four-color theorem states that no more than four colors are required to color all nodes in planar graphs such that no two adjacent nodes are of the same color. The theorem was first propounded by Francis Guthrie in 1852. Since, scholars have either failed to solve this theorem or required computer assistance to prove this theorem. Hence, the goal of this paper is to provide the first correct proof composed with the human brain and without computer assistance in 2 pages only for this 170 year-old mathematical problem.
